November 6, 2020 – Why would you treat people bad if you want them to move to your town

It’s almost 4 months now that we arrived in Fachbach. My humans like it here and it seems like we are staying for a while longer. Me personally, I think it’s a good place but a miss a big, fenced area where I can run without being called back.   There is just one problem to feel really welcomed here – the major. If I would be major of a town, I would make new people in town feel welcome. I wouldn’t give them a hard time because they have dogs, and I wouldn’t make them to rush the decision of moving to receive taxes and fees. As some of my foreign followers might not know I will explain to you how moving works here in Germany. Believe me, of what I have heard humans talking there is way too much bureaucracy here.   When you live in a town or city you must go to city hall, and they must write in their books that you are a citizen of that town, and your ID card must be changed to your new address. Nowadays you even must bring the acknowledgement of your landlord when you get regi

September 15, 2021 – Mogli loves joggers

Image
My mistress is busy painting walls, doors, ceilings and furniture. Because my humans do “Living for work” they help around the house wherever help is needed. So, my mistress goes painting a few hours every day whereas my master does other things. I can’t smell much chemics when my mistress comes back after doing paint jobs. She uses chalk colors. In the pictures you can see some things she did.   After my humans finish their work around here, they work on their software or walk us dogs. Sometimes we walk up the hill to the big cross or to the little cratory. Other times we drive to the woods or to the field on top of one of the hills. Mogli and I can run free there. We both love running free but I get tired easily. I have to admit I am getting older and calmer, whereas that young fellow Mogli never gets tired. He is having so much fun when he is running. Too much fun, sometimes he runs me over or jumps over me because he can’t stop on time.   Last week my mistress took Mogli

September 08, 2020 – A huge present

Image
My humans owned their last car back in 2019 while we lived in Las Vegas. They sold it because we left the country. Since then, we either traveled using public transportation or rental car. Here in Fachbach there aren’t any stores. You can walk to Bad Ems, which is not far away, or you can ride a bike but doing groceries is not easy that way. Of course, our hosts took one of my humans with them when they went doing groceries, but they don’t we to be a burden to anyone.   Now a big surprise happened – my humans got a present, a car. Katja, an old friend of my mistress told us that her dad got a car as a present from a friend and now he has a spare car which he wants to give to my humans. It’s old but still runs. And it’s not a car, it’s a van, a Citroen C8, a huge car with enough space for Mogli and me. The air condition is broken but it’s getting colder anyways, so we should be good. Isn’t that a very generous gift? Thank you so much!

August 14, 2020 – ducks, swans and more

Image
We have been in Fachbach for almost a month now. I am comfortable wherever we are as long as my humans are with me, I have a place to sleep and get my food. Mogli on the other hand is not used to all that. Remember, he lived half wild in a kennel with other dogs until a couple of months ago.   My humans take us for walks on the shore of the river Lahn. There are plenty of ducks, geese, swans and other birds. Let’s say it that way, there is a lot of air traffic in that area. While we read our newspaper and do our business Mogli just stops and looks in the sky. He watches all these birds flying over him and making a lot of noises. You know how it sounds if ducks fly over you and make quack, quack, don’t you? The most interesting thing to see is a swan taking off. All you can hear is the noise when the wings touch the water and after some meters, a lot of meters, it finally takes off. You can see that here a lot, same thing with geese and ducks taking off. Sometimes you can see du

July 19, 2020 – Next stop: Fachbach

We are moving on, Josef is looking for someone that will assist him for a long time, like a couple of years and my humans have different plans. My humans already found another place where they will work for accommodation. There is a small hotel in Fachbach that needs some renovation and my humans will help with that. Wow, isn’t that crazy, we are traveling all over Germany because Fachbach is in Rheinland-Pfalz.   This morning my mistress picked up the rental car and after my master packed the car we drove off. First stop was Oberursel where my humans picked up some stuff they needed, next stop was the storage unit in Mainz. My humans stored some things they do not need for our stay in Fachbach. They still carried the winter clothes from Lapland with them and they said they would not need them for now. It was a short drive from Mainz to Fachbach where we arrived in the late afternoon.   We met Marion and Achim but more important we met Alina and Millie. Alina and Millie are white Germa

June 30, 2020 – A great place to be and the Munich Animals

Image
Mogli and I like being here in Unterfeldbrecht. As it is close season we are not allowed to run without a leash. My mistress bought a 15m/49 ft. leash and Mogli and I both got the chance to run on the long leash. It was also a possibility to train Mogli to listen to the commands. There are woods and fields all around town and not much traffic. One day we went on a very long walk, it felt forever to go back home. I am a senior and allowed to complain about long walks. The only downfall here is the ticks. There are thousands, millions of ticks and after every walk my humans found like 10 ticks or more in my fur. They decided to get a spot-on to keep the ticks away. Luckily that worked and Mogli and I did not have to deal with these creatures again.   Josef is a very friendly person and so is his family. They laugh a lot and my humans love that. The humans made a couple of campfires and had barbeques. Mogli and I were allowed to be at the fire as well. While my humans put a net over a fen

June 20, 2020 – Moving again

Image
Our time here in Burg is over and Michael the owner of the flat will move back in. Mogli, my humans and I are moving to Bavaria now, to a little town called Unterfeldbrecht with about 100 people living there. Instead of going by train my humans rented a car to go there. We left early in the morning and first we had to take the ferry to cross the Nord-Ostsee Kanal. On the Autobahn was a traffic jam and it took us about 4 hours to drive 50 kilometers/31 miles. The reason was a construction area. As we had air conditioning in the car and plenty of room Mogli and I were fine with this. We slept most of the time. Because of the many construction areas our trip took almost double the time it would have taken without it. We arrived in Unterfeldbrecht at midnight.   You might wonder what we are doing in a small town like Unterfeldbrecht. I will explain it to you.   What my humans are doing is they go to a place where they work and can live for free. Sometimes they get food, sometimes they do t
