May 21, 2020 – Back in Germany

We had a good and quiet night on the ferry. Forrest had to go to the bathroom at about 5 am and my mistress was able to watch a beautiful sunrise. I preferred to stay in the cabin and sleep.

When finally the alarm woke up my humans they had breakfast, packed our gear and at around 9 am we arrived in Kiel.

The owner of the AirBnB offered to pick us up in Kiel and my humans were happy with that as we did not have to take go to Kiel main station somehow, take the train to Burg (Dithmarschen) and walk to the apartment.

Again it was great to have the ramps from the ferry into the terminal and not to take a shuttle bus and walk stairs.

Forrest was very excited and he couldn’t wait to find out what was happening next. When he gets excited he wines and jumps. He is a really good jumper – he jumps over my human’s head from a standing position. His dad, Snowfox, is a great jumper too.

Michael, our host, was very friendly and the humans talked a lot while Forrest and I looked out of the windows.

After an hour drive we arrived in Burg and moved into the apartment where we could finally relax. This would be our home for a month now.

Burg is a small town in Schleswig-Holstein, right where the Nord-Ostsee Kanal is, the channel that connects the North Sea with the Baltic Sea. Approximately 4,000 people live in Burg and there is not much to see. It’s only 10 km apart from a town called Wacken where Wacken Open Air, a Heavy Metal Festival that takes place every year on the first weekend in August. This is one of the biggest Heavy Metal Festivals in the world.

My humans did some groceries after we arrived and relaxed the rest of the day.
