March 27, 2019 – My mistress has birthday today and we went sightseeing again.

My humans slept in today, as it was my mistress’s birthday. For breakfast they went to iHop next door and of course I went with them. As my mistress was a member in My iHop she got free pancakes. Can you imagine – I did get NOTHING for breakfast, not even a small bite? This is not fair.
After having breakfast my humans went to the German Bread Bakery. They bought some Laugenbroetchen, which are Pretzel Rolls and a loaf of bread. I don’t like bread; it does not have much of a taste but my humans like it.

Next stop was the Las Vegas Outlet North, as my humans needed some summer clothes. They say the t-shirts and pants they have are a couple of years old and look worn out. There were a lot of people in the Outlet. My humans only went to two stores and I am very happy with that. They had a coffee at Starbucks and I got some ice cubes. My humans carry a backpack with my bowl and a thermos with ice cubes as well as treats for me. This way they make sure I drink enough and don’t get hydrated.

After that they went to the Las Vegas sign. On the way there my humans saw a shop called Artistic Iron Works. They stopped and went inside to have a look on what they offer. There was a carriage with horses made out of steel, a space ship with aliens and other things.
This wasn’t interesting for me at all.

When they were finished we continued to go to the Las Vegas sign. There was a long line of people lining up to take pictures in front of the sign. My humans decided it’s not worth staying in line for maybe half an hour or longer just to take a picture so they went straight to the Harley Davidson Shop next door. They had a Las Vegas sign there too and my humans took pictures there. Yes, I know, it’s not the original but would you wait in line to be able to take a picture while the sun is shining and you have like 79F / 26°C? I don’t and I really appreciated when my humans decided not to.
That Harley Davidson shop was great, so much motorcycles and trikes. Friendly people everywhere. Everybody told me how beautiful and cute I am. These four ladies even took a picture with me. Hey ladies, it was nice meeting you!

We stayed quite a while there before we left and went to Bass Pro. Bass Pro is a shop where you can get everything for outdoors, for these who do not know what Bass Pro is.
This was a huge shop with a big aquarium. It holds more than 117,000 gallons / 531.892 cubic liters of water A lot of fishes were in the aquarium. One looked completely different than the other and carried a tank on its back. My mistress told me that this was a human diver cleaning the windows from the inside and these bubbles came from the oxygen tank on his/her back. My humans walked around the shop for a while before they went to the casino in the same building – The Silverton.
My mistress gambled for a while but didn’t have much luck. Luckily she only played with $10.

We left when it was almost dark outside. As a last stop my humans wanted to go to the old strip. So we went to park at the El Cortez Hotel and my humans went to Container City first to have dinner. Container City is build out of containers connected to each other. In the middle you can find a playground for children. There are shops and restaurants. My humans had dinner at Big Earn’s BBQ. They liked the food very much. It was too spicy for me but I was allowed to try some Macaroni & Cheese, not my first choice but better than nothing. Did you know there is a giant, fire spitting praying mantis in front of Container City

It got a little chilly while we were at Container City but as soon as we left and walked it was better. Instead it got louder and louder the closer we came to Fremont Street. Fremont Street is the old Las Vegas Strip. Fremont Street was built in 1905, when Las Vegas itself was founded. When my mistress was in Las Vegas back in 1979 and my master in 1985 this was the main strip in Las Vegas and cars were driving there. Now it is only for pedestrians and there is a roof with millions of LED lights. You can even zip line the strip.
There were so many people and people making music every couple of meters. Drumming, singing, dancing, painting, and much more.
The more crowded it got the more stressed my mistress became. I could feel it and I tried to calm her down but it was just too much. So my humans decided to get out of that craziness and return back home. I did not mind because it was very loud and all these people around me. They all kept a distance, which was good for my mistress; it gave her more room to breath.

When we got home we all were very, very tired and my humans went to sleep right away, but not before they made sure I had dinner and was taken to the dog area again.
What a crazy day. Las Vegas is a crazy city, so loud in some areas. It is completely different when it is dark outside. There are lights everywhere in all colors and the city never sleeps.
