March 19, 2019 – Sightseeing on the strip (part 2)

Before we went to the strip to do some sightseeing in our temporary hometown my humans went to the German Bakery in Henderson. My humans left me in the car while they went in there. Luckily our car has a feature where you can have the air condition running while the car is locked from the outside. This way I can stay in the car without getting hot. My humans were very happy when they came back into the car. They found some German bread, which they liked very much.

Last time my humans and I went sightseeing on the strip we walked from Treasure Island Hotel to Circus Circus. This time my humans decided to walk from Planet Hollywood towards Mandala Bay.
We had to walk all the way through Planet Hollywood to get to the strip. There are so many people in these casinos and all these lights and sounds. When you are in there you loose lack of time, don’t know if it is dark outside or sunshine.
In Planet Hollywood on the floor where all the shops are, the ceiling is painted like a sky. It looks very nice.
You know, I don’t want to brag but while we walk there people look at me and tell me how beautiful I am. Can you believe that? Strangers just see me and think I am beautiful. I am flattered. Thank you everybody!

After walking for a bit we passed the Rainforest Café. It was past lunchtime and my humans were a bit hungry. My mistress has never been to a Rainforest Café before. Have you ever been there? It’s amazing. It’s decorated like a rainforest and mechanical animals are everywhere while you can hear the sounds of a rainforest.
My humans had a close look on the menu and decided that they would have lunch there. At the entrance were a snake and a crocodile but I could only hear the crocodile. The restaurant is on the upper floor and my humans were seated right next to the elephants. Every time somebody came by the elephants started moving and made sounds. Breanne was our server; she was very friendly and even brought me some ice cubes. Did I tell you I love ice cubes? Water is ok even if it’s room temperature, but I definitely prefer ice cubes. It’s fun to chew them.
My humans ordered something to eat that they would share. They had the Hawaiian Surf & Turf (Char-grilled flat iron steak, teriyaki glaze, sesame Ahi Tuna, wasabi aioli, steamed rice and broccoli) and a Little Islander Caesar Salad. I could tell by the smell that this was very yummy and my humans just loved it.
While we were in the Rainforest Café there was thunder and lightning. No, not for real, just faked. We would have been soaked if that would have been for real. It was fun being in there.
When we left we kept walking and stopped at the Hard Rock Hotel. Remember we saw the guitar from the Hard Rock Café at the Neon Museum. The same guitar was on the front of that house. My humans looked around and Penny came to us and told us if we need any help she would be more than happy to help us. She was so friendly and liked me so very much. Hi Penny, I hope you read this.
The next stop was the Coca Cola shop. They have lots of stuff with Coca Cola on it, caps, t-shirts, bottle openers and so on. You could even try Coca Cola drinks from other countries but my humans just looked around.
Next-door was the M&M store, our next stop. They had big tubes filled with M&M’s in all colors and different flavors. You could fill plastic bags from these tubes. My humans had a sample of three different kinds but weren’t too keen on it. In the upper floor you could print M&M’s with your logo or picture. My humans thought of getting some with my picture on in but decided against it. Too hot, too expensive and not worth the money.
On the other side of the street was the New York, New York Casino. We went there next. There was the Hershey’s and Reese’s store. I am not allowed to eat chocolate, it’s poisoning for dogs. My humans did not buy anything in either of the shops but it was interesting to see what they had. They had big strawberries covered with chocolate. They looked very yummy to my mistress but $20 for 6 of them was way to expensive.

After we left the New York, New York we went to the Excalibur casino. Oh, did you know there is a roller coaster going around the New York, New York casino.
The Excalibur looks like a huge castle, even inside. We did not stay long in there but it looked amazing. They have tournaments there too and my mistress said she would like to go there some times. I wonder if I could come with her?

Next was the Luxor Hotel and Casino. Can you imagine there were cats in front of the hotel? I mean, not actual real cats, they were made out of stones. “Cats in ancient Egypt were represented in social and religious practices of Ancient Egypt for more than 30 centuries. … Cats were praised for killing venomous snakes and protecting the Pharaoh since at least the First Dynasty of Egypt.” (Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cats_in_ancient_Egypt).

This is crazy! So many cats in this hotel. In the inside it looked beautiful and was very big. They had an exhibition with relicts they found from the Titanic. My mistress told me that the Titanic was a big ship that sunk because of an ice mountain. They found all that stuff on the ground of the sea. We did not get in the exhibition because the tickets were like $32 per person. They do not charge me but still it was a lot and my humans said they think it’s not worth it.
We stayed for quite a while because my humans were exhausted and I was tired too. My humans had some ice cubes in a thermos and my mistress brought my little water bowl so I could have some ice cubes while we were resting.

My humans decided to take the monorail back to Planet Hollywood. Good thing, because I was tired. It was already dark when we left Planet Hollywood and as soon as we got home I just had a snack and went straight to the couch and fell asleep.
What a crazy day. It’s nice to see places like that and how many dogs can say they walked the strip in Las Vegas and went in all these casinos? I know I am very lucky to see all that and I really enjoy it. I enjoy when people adore me and want to pet me, well not all of them but most. Some people just approach me and pet me without asking; I don’t like that. They would not like it when I just came towards them and lick them. Besides that, I am a support dog and I shouldn’t be pet while I am on duty. My new harness even says “Dog On Duty”. Most people ask though and depending on how my mistress feels they get the OK to pet me or not.
