Traveling The World with my humans

My humans woke up early today and after they showered we went to Tim Hortons to have breakfast. I got some breakfast too. People at that Tim Hortons were very friendly and some of them came over and asked if they could pet me. If you read this now feel free to comment. It was a pleasure meeting you. After my humans finished breakfast we went to see the falls. Both my humans have seen the falls before in summer time. But this was different. It was cold, -15C / 5F. There was a lot of ice in the falls. I had to walk through a lot of salt but it was worth it. This was absolutely breathtaking. Nature is doing great things. In the Center at the falls we met Colleen, she works there. She is so nice and she pet me. It was a pleasure meeting you. Now we went to the US border to leave Canada. This was a tough one. We spent almost 2 hours there. The officer wasn't sure if he should let my humans in or not as they have been in the USA and Canada for about two years without going back to Ge

I knew it, they packed up the car today. But let's start at the beginning; my humans and I picked up the new car yesterday. It took quite a while until everything was finished with all the paperwork. I must admit, it's a nice car, but it might be a little too small for all the stuff we are carrying around. Later yesterday my humans went to Oak Knoll Stables where my mistress groomed the horses again. She was so very sorry to tell Caroline that we would leave the next day. After we came back my mistress changed at Joyce's house and we went to Hermy's house. They had coffee and cake while they talked. I got some special treats too. Did I mention I love Hermy? I really do and not just because of the treats she gives me, she is such a lovely person, so sweet. We said goodbye and left to go back to Joyce's house where my humans packed up the rest of the stuff. What a day, I am exhausted. Well, let me start at the beginning. My humans had to get up early because my mistress had an appointment at the hair salon. It had snowed in the night and they wanted to make sure they could drive out on the driveway and might have to clean it. I don’t like getting up early; I’d rather sleep a little longer. Not today – the alarm went off on 7.30 am. My humans decided to leave earlier and get a coffee at Tim Hortons. I can’t complain about that because they ordered an English muffin with Bacon and Eggs for me. Looks like my humans finally understood what I really want to eat. My mistress started packing up again. That usually means we leave and go to another place. I haven’t figured out yet where we are going this time. So far not everything is packed yet and they still are quite relaxed, not as we are leaving the next day. My bed is still next to the bed of my mistress and my bowl is still where it belongs so I am not too worried yet. But, I have to make sure to stay close to my humans now. They might leave without me. I mean, they say they love me but you never know. Better safe than sorry. I will follow them wherever they go now, just to make sure they will not disappear. Maybe we go back to the desert?

Our beautiful car, the Dodge Ram Extended Version from 1988 is broken. My humans say it looks like the transmission or at least a part of the transmission is broken. I don’t know what a transmission is but without that the car can’t drive. My humans wanted to have that repaired and went to the garage in Cobourg to set a date for it. Here in this area not all car garages can fix transmissions. The one my humans went to can do that, well at least that’s the information they got before. Now they were told that the specialist that can do that would retire in a couple of days and after that nobody in that garage would be able to do that kind of repair. The next garage that could do that would be like 45 km away. My humans were not sure if they should do that repair anyways because it’s an old car and they already had to pay some repairs last year. The garage in Pahrump told them that if they should touch the hoses that could case a lot more repairs because then they would have to replace

My mistress now helps grooming the horses once a week at Oak Knoll Stables. The horses she grooms are Missy and Day Dream. While my mistress is busy I can play with Amie and Velcro, which is a lot of fun. There are a lot of mares that need to be groomed. The mares are due to deliver the foals soon. The first foal is due on January 31. My mistress loves being with the horses, she says it’s like therapy for her. I don’t know, horses are huge and they have a lot of strength. Do I need to be worried about my mistress? She seems to know what she is doing and she is not afraid. Maybe I should talk to the horses and let them know that they have to take good care of my mistress. Next time I get the chance I will do that. Uups, I completely forgot to tell you something. We visited Hermy again. I fell in love with Hermy because she always gives me treats, very special treats I wouldn’t get from my humans. Sometimes I get some ham, some crackers, Christmas cookies, cake or other yummy things. This time I got some blueberry cake with whipped cream, milk and a slice of ham. Hermy is the best. She must have been a dog in an earlier life how else would she know what a dog wants? Hermy and my humans talked a lot. They said it’s New Years Eve. This is a day I don’t like too much. Back in Germany this was a horrible day. The humans shot rockets in the sky and made a lot of noises. I was scared by that and didn’t know where to hide. My humans told me it’s ok and that I will be fine but that didn’t help me. Last year we spent that day at Tim’s house in Connaught and there was no noise.
